Both of my grandfathers served in WWII. One went from the Winter War all the way to Berlin. How he managed to survive I don't know, probably one in ten survived all the way from Finland to Berlin. Infantry, started the war as a private, ended it as a major. Never talked about the war, I asked my dad about that, not once. The other was just a private in a tank division throughout. Both would have been absolutely ashamed of Russia today. Russians went from Nazi fighters to Nazis in just a few generations.

And as for your paranoid fantasies, I have yet to report on a post once.

  5. And that’s where you are losing the plot by making a choice to follow mainstream media of where you live now. Russia, after years of requests and warnings to NATO (the US), and after Ukraine pulled over 100k military towards Donbas and 14,000 deaths in Donbas since 2014 (etc), decided to make the decision not to wait but to initiate preemptive attack and sure enough for this they get the blame, because most people had no idea what was going on. I don’t support wars, I’m a man of peace. But, life isn’t perfect, and the country you live in, supposedly the US, is not innocent, hypocrites that cause so much devastation in this world in the short time of their existence.

I am not following mainstream media. I read Russian sources. In Russian. The amount of Nazi-like propaganda and Nazi-like sentiments in Russia currently is off the scale. Amazing.

Anyone who thinks that a nuclear-weapon-possessing country was about to be physically invaded (including you) is an absolute moron. The claims that Russia was about to be invaded are incredibly stupid - planning to invade a country that is more than 4 times your population that just amassed a 200K army on the border is beyond anyone's imagination, except the Russian propagandists' like you.

Russians are playing the role of Nazis right now. And their end will be the same.

    Putin's speech:

"Crimea was and is a Russian territory. Donbass is Russian. Both these territories owe their cultural development to Russia. They were taken from us and the Russians there have been ill-treated in the most distressing manner.

As always, I attempted to bring about, by the peaceful method of making proposals for revision, an alteration of this intolerable position. It is a lie when the outside world says that we only tried to carry through our revisions by pressure. Eight years ago there was the opportunity of carrying out these revisions by peaceful settlements and understanding. On my own initiative I have, not once but several times, made proposals for the revision of intolerable conditions. All these proposals, as you know, have been rejected - proposals for limitation of armaments and even, if necessary, disarmament, proposals for limitation of warmaking, proposals for the elimination of certain methods of modern warfare. You know the proposals that I have made to fulfill the necessity of restoring Russian sovereignty over Russian territories. You know the endless attempts I made for a peaceful clarification and understanding of the problem of Crimea, Luhansk and Donbass. It was all in vain.

We have tried and tried to solve these problems, by proposing a peaceful discussion. That the problems had to be solved was clear. It is quite understandable to us that the time when the problem was to be solved had little interest for the Western Powers. But that time is not a matter of indifference to us. Moreover, it was not and could not be a matter of indifference to those who suffer most..."

    ...

"We have nothing to do with scum and traitors and will simply spit them out like a gnat that accidentally flew into their mouths — spit them out on the pavement. We are all faithful to our old principle. It is quite unimportant whether we ourselves live, but it is essential that our people shall live, that Russia shall live. The sacrifice that is demanded of us is not greater than the sacrifice that many generations have made.".. etc etc

    Quite reasonable, right?

  10. In totally unrelated- but actually quite related news:

VPNs – which hide users’ identities and locations – are being downloaded in Russia by the hundreds of thousands a day after Russian authorities launched a crackdown on any media not towing the official line on the war
