Interesting how vulnerable the Russians are to their weak supply lines. Especially since they are now attacking with the Russian homeland directly at their back. I read somewhere that Russia has depleted approximately half of its missile stock and possibly more of its munitions stock. Two km a day won’t get them to where they need to be with dwindling supplies. They are going to have to make big run sooner than later.

Not sure what Russia's problem is this week as far as getting that donbass offensive rolling. Some component is missing already - not sure what it is. For a while the "excuse" for the lull was explained away by the pundits by saying that Putin is still repositioning and reconsituting his Kyiv forces that had been moved from the west, was waiting for the mercenaries from Syria and Chetsnya to arrive, and waiting for more toops and supplies to move before the big offensive. That all makes sense within limits. but they are a bit outside those limits now. They read 24/7 about the west sending in new supplies and heavy weapons by the pantload. The normal military mind would think "we need to go with what we got and move ahead of that because the Ukrainians are arming up bigtime so we need to complete our offensive before that reaches the front." Not sure where they are hung up this time. And I am not saying that there has been no increase, just that they are hung up somewhere which is causing them to punch below what all their artillery and troop count would otherwise indicate. I have seen it reported in several places that Ukraine now has more tanks on the ground than Russia. WUT? Not sure I believe that but if so it would support my point again, which is to ask why they think that time is on their side. You should have moved ahead of the incoming equipment. Give it another week and we will know what their frigging problem is this time around. The captured soldiers will tell the story. Did we forget to bring the food or gas this time too? Or did we discover that 1000 howitzers are great but they need ammo too? My usual caveat is that Russia is a large brute force with lots of firepower so there should be no getting giddy. But they do like to underperform and try to compensate with numbers. Stupid pigs. The Putin bootlickers will point out that they rely on missiles and that is true. Just to put how pathetic a 2 km advance per day is for an attacking and superior force, I can run 2 km in less than 9 minutes. One good Ukrainian counteroffensive and the Russians can lose 2 weeks of gains in a day. Next week should be the week the battle for Donbas really gets underway because you ain’t lying, when those howitzers show up it’s going to be a big problem for the Russians.
