Maybe I'm an old-school leftist, pro-labor AND anti-imperialist. Now conservatives have apparently taken those two values. Dunno, too far outside my interests to really think on. Only reason I'm really involved at all is because I oppose what capitalism is doing to the biosphere, and I see NATO as simply capitalism's "muscle". That's not to say that Russia's economy is not also destroying non-human Life, but I don't live in Russia.
Let's be very clear. Putin is the aggressor in the Ukraine war. His attack has nothing to do with NATO expansion. The NATO expansion Russian-talking point is just one in a string of fabrications from the Kremlin including the lie that Ukraine was ruled by Nazis. None of the Russian fabrications providing excuses for the brutal invasion are true. The intent of Putin's attack on Ukraine is very clear. His vision is to re-unite the Soviet Union by seizing all the former Warsaw Pact countries -- because he effectively believes they should be part of the Russian empire. Coupled with seizing their wealth and natural resources to make Putin's band of oligarchs wealthy.
