Latest indications is the Chinese ship caught destroying Baltic sea floor cables is likely owned by the Chinese military according to a Finnish newspaper.

A Russian military ship has arrived to "monitor it" to add to the drama:

Ukraine war pushes Europe into a race to build up its defence base

Last month’s UK-German Trinity House Agreement underscores the trend. Their commitment to “rapidly develop brand-new extended deep strike weapons” represents more than military co-operation. It’s an acknowledgment that peacetime production models cannot meet the demands of sustained high-intensity conflict. When German defence minister Boris Pistorius speaks of “what these times require”, he’s articulating a new industrial imperative that could reshape Europe’s defence sector.

Russia recruits hundreds of Yemeni mercenaries to fight in Ukraine

The recruits told the FT they had been promised lucrative jobs, "high salaries," and even Russian citizenship. However, after arriving in Russia with the help of a Houthi-linked company, they were “forcibly inducted into the Russian army and sent to the front lines in Ukraine,” according to the report.

The FT described the operation as a “shadowy trafficking operation,” underscoring the deepening ties between the Kremlin and Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militants.

West must not set ‘red lines’ in helping Ukraine, France says

Western allies should not "not set and express red lines" in supporting Ukraine, France's foreign minister said, in comments that could be interpreted as aimed at Germany's continued refusal to provide Kyiv with long-range missiles.

Speaking to the BBC on Sunday, Jean-Noël Barrot said that Ukraine could fire French-made missiles into Russia "in the logics of self defense," while refusing to confirm whether Kyiv had already used the weapons against Moscow.

Have you considered becoming a Republican? They have great need of imaginations like yours. Big opportunities in team Lindsay Graham.

However I was talking with the master sergeant who first trained me as a sniper and he had a feeling that Lady Graham might be the first to have a drone land on his dinner table as the US slides into fascism. The time of snipers is going the way of the dinosaur.

Just a coincidence he mentioned today.
