Massive Ukraine drone strike hits energy infrastructure in Russia and Crimea

A massive wave of Ukrainian drones and missiles struck oil refineries, ports, and electricity stations in southwestern Russia and Russian-occupied Crimea early Friday.

The strike, which Russian authorities said involved more than 100 Ukrainian drones, is Ukraine’s biggest attack in months, as Kyiv aims to destroy military infrastructure and cripple Russia’s oil sector.

Residents in the port of Novorossiysk lost power Thursday night after drones hit at least two fuel depots and two oil terminals, the Russian outlet Astra reported, and the Crimean city of Sevastopol experienced rolling blackouts after Russian authorities said an electricity substation was hit. It was the third attack in two days against Sevastopol, where schools were closed on Friday.

Russia is incapable of taking Kharkov. No matter how much Putin actually wants to take it. Putin is once again making public excuses for the Russian military failures.

What failures? It is a slow but successful offensive everywhere now. One has to recognize the reality even if it is bad.

Russia finally takes 12 villages. Something Russian propagandists claimed a week ago -- a claim so completely laughable that even the Kremlin had to come out and correct them nearly daily on how many villages were taken. Well it only cost the Russians 10,050 casualties over the past week to take these villages. Do the math and calculate how soon the 50,000 Russian troops in the Kharkiv area will be gone.

Ukraine war latest: Russian forces take control of village in Kharkiv region - defence ministry
Russian troops are continuing to advance in the Kharkiv region - with the defence ministry claiming it had taken control of 12 settlements in a week.

Ukrainian forced Press ganging predicted to ramp up even further as new law comes in today.

New mobilization comes into effect today in Ukraine, men are fleeing the country and hiding to avoid press gangs.

The mobilization law that came into effect on Saturday stipulates that men in the eligible age group must now register their address and other personal information with the military within 60 days.

The measure is meant to prevent draft dodging, and comes after Ukraine lowered its mobilization age last month from 27 to 25.

Many attempts to flee to neighboring countries have been facilitated by brokers under severe conditions. Some people have lost their lives trying to cross rivers and steep mountain passes.

Radio Free Europe quoted Romanian border police as saying that around 11,000 Ukrainian men of military service age have illegally entered the country since the start of the Russian invasion.
