I forgot to mention Russia's biggest loss in this disaster, two new countries added to NATO,one of them 800 miles on Russia's border and just hundreds of miles from St Petersberg and Russias biggest and most important nuclear submarine base.

The US would go absolutely apeshit if Russia was 200-300 miles from its most important nuclear submarine base and 2nd most prestigious city.

Strategically Finland on Russias border is probably better than Ukraine.

Russia has captured 20% of Ukraine already, this is close to 10 million Russian speaking people already. If they capture all of the red area, it will be way more than 10 million people.

They are going to take pro Russian areas. So insurgents will be limited. If they take the Orange areas (in above map) then yeah I agree they will face huge insurgencies, so the Russians are not looking to take those.

Not GDP, I was talking about land and resources in the ground and energy resources, see:

58,000 was the number that died in Vietnam.

If you include following on deaths from exposure to Agent Orange etc, it runs in to many 100s of thousands.

Of the 6.5 million veterans who fought in Vietnam, 5% (300,000) are thought to have died from exposure to Agent Orange.

"The number of Vietnam veterans affected by the chemical Agent Orange is astonishing. Roughly 300-thousand veterans have died from Agent Orange exposure -- that's almost five times as many as the 58-thousand who died in combat"

Hundreds of thousands dead and wounded Russians,2 new countries added to NATO,800 new miles of NATO on Russia's border and less than 300 miles from Russias most important nuclear submarine base and 2nd most prestigious city.

I agree Vietnam was likely bad for The US depending on what its true motives were, but not nearly as bad as Russia's disaster in Ukraine.

The only reason areas of Ukraine are "pro-Russian" is because they have ethnically cleansed the existing Ukraine population and imported people from Russia to replace them, Just like they did in Crimea. As outlined by the ICC indictment of Putin.

Let's take a look at the Russian causalities in Ukraine which have greatly exceeded 400,000 in a mere two years. If Putin keeps this up he can exceed the Russian military deaths in WW2.

    Incorrect.

This map from the CNN website, shows that these areas massively voted in favour of the pro Russian candidate (Yanukovych) in the 2010 Ukrainian election:

Not content with the ethnic cleansing and abduction of children they have done already, Russia plans to abduct more children and turn them into "Russians". This is the sickness which is Putin's Russia.

Kyiv reports Russia’s plans to abduct children from occupied Ukrainian territories
