  3. As always, Biden has played a game of supporting Ukraine enough to not be defeated but not enough to win. He wants to drag it out long enough to get a brokered settlement but not enough to confront Russia in a way that could involve Russia against NATO. Except there is an election coming up so Biden does not want to see Ukraine defeated either. Also, going after Russian oil refineries will drive the price of oil and gas up before the election. Biden does not want that either.

The Europeans need to decide what they want to do. The U.S has brought Ukraine a long way and lots of support but we have an idiot in the white house and everything cannot be resolved by the U.S. anyway, and should not be.

The U.S. is afraid that the strikes on Russian oil refineries will drive up the international price of oil. This has nothing to do with appeasing Putin or not making Putin mad. This is pure domestic election politics and working to prevent worldwide inflation. The Biden administration is willing to undermine our foreign policy towards Russia to stick money & votes in their other pocket -- typical politics -- and not in a good way.

US has urged Ukraine to halt strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, FT reports

March 22 (Reuters) - The United States has urged Ukraine to halt strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, warning that drone strikes risk provoking retaliation and driving up global oil prices, the Financial Times reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The attacks helped boost oil prices that have risen nearly 4% so far since March 12, when Ukraine first started targeting Russia's energy infrastructure. A further rally in gasoline prices in the United States would weaken President Joe Biden ratings and undermine his re-election chances.

The only things Russians will successfully hunt is each other apparently.

Modern problems require modern solutions. Ukraine cannot sink your naval ships if you sink them yourself.

Russia just gave up on the biggest lie it tells itself

    • Russia has clung to the term "special military operation" to describe its invasion of Ukraine.
    • But a Kremlin spokesperson said Friday that "we are in a state of war," blaming the West.
    • Putin signed a law effectively criminalizing calling the attack on Ukraine a "war" or "invasion."
