Could be something more complicated like that, or he could simply be right. I mean, week after week, month after month, now nearly years on and "Ukraine is winning!!!"
No, it's USA winning. I always thought, the best scenario was to grind Russia down slowly which is exactly what's happening. By slowly turning over Russia on a slow cooking spit, you get to find out their strength and weaknesses, besides, USA & Europe are largely out of harms way, spending money, testing weapons, selling munitions and not getting killed while attempting to avert nuclear war.
If that were the case, it'd be the Ukrainians calling for a truce, not us attempting to twist their arm into a truce by ceding territory. As long as Ukraine is no longer losing territory, that's a win IMO, and the fact is they keep gaining back.
Putin is desperately looking for a way to exit Ukraine without looking like he is surrendering. Of course, Ukraine is not willing to surrender an inch of their territory to a violent dictator. Russians are feeling it pretty hard these days. And yes, Vatniks, the Ukrainians are too. But the Russian soldiers know that the war is optional for Russia. They could go home. The Ukrainians do not have that option. The Ruskies would just come and take their land and their people and rape their dog. The fellow in this video will be dead before long, if not already. No shame in surrendering when your officers and command have abandoned you. Dmitri on X: "Unfortunate situation for the Russian marines in Krynky. https://t.co/Tq0xgvXLUB" / X (twitter.com)
