It'll just be a cold war conflict like AFG/Korea/Vietnam/ etc... We'll kill Russians and Vlad will accept the American plausible deniability to avoid declaring war.

So you say but as I have been trying to say, it appears supply lines have stayed open.

  6. The thing that sucks too is the the Russians dont have much food on them either so you don't get much by taking their supplies.

Just to digress a little but it makes a point. I read a recount once of a German returning to his village in Germany after the war. Everything destroyed, hunger everywhere, no government for the first year. American aid had not arrived there. But he said he lived for a whole year just by going around to disabled American tanks and picking out the rather extensive storage of cans of beef in the belly of the tanks that had not burned. What do you get if you disable one of the Ruskie tanks or their supply trucks? Some MRE's that are- shall we say- past their expiration date and not fit to eat even before.

On a related note regarding the condition of Russian soldiers, I was walking the streets of Moscow back in the early 2000s and ran into a miserable looking group of army soldiers - I say soldiers but they were kids, really. They were begging. As an American, I was shocked - soldiers begging in the capital city?

I invited them to a small restaurant called "Patio Pizza" (horrible pizza, but it was still pizza and getting good pizza was an impossible quest) right outside Smolesky Passage and I bought them some pizza. They were very thankful and I couldn't understand how they were hungry, so I asked. They told me that a soldier's life is horrible in the Russian army. They are conscripted and right from the start their superior officers take their money and other items of value and leave them to fend for themselves. I couldn't imagine the outcry if US Marines were found on the streets of ANY city starving in the US. There would be a revolution.

They told me how horrible life as a Russian army cadet was. Told me stories on how they would sit on tanks in the sun, with black bread (Russians love their black bread) all over the top of the tank. As the bread sat in the sun, it soaked up the paint fumes from the tank and they would eat the bread just to get high and forget about life in the military.

I then verified that treatment in two separate occasions with two other groups of soldiers.

The rich can pay to get their kids out of conscription.

This will damage Putin far more than any "no-fly" airspace bullshit. And its far less dangerous.

As mentioned by someone earlier the first shipment of Starlink terminals have arrived in the Ukraine. Other reports put this first shipment as 100 something total. Here are some more details...

    • A shipment of SpaceX’s Starlink satellite-internet dishes arrived in Ukraine on Monday, according to a top government official.
    • The Starlink kits came less than 48 hours after CEO Elon Musk announced the company would send support.
    • Ukraine digital minister Mykhailo Fedorov posted a photo showing more than two dozen boxes of Starlink user kits in the back of a truck.

  10. I meant tanks and howitzers and equipment. I think they can still truck in missles from the western borders. Given the conveys and bridges around Kyiv they should work very well to block up conveys by blowing up front trucks and picking off the rest like sitting ducks a la Red Dawn and far less Ukrainian casualties.

I think they could defend Kyiv from tropps entering by simply using these non stop for days and days until Russian troops get tired of seeing their friends legs blown off sitting in a tank or armored vehicle with no way to fight back.
