    Another normal day in Russia

Top Russian army general Sergei Surovikin has been detained as the Kremlin cracks down on Wagner sympathizers following the militia’s failed mutiny last week,” the Financial Times reports.

“Surovikin, a senior Russian general known to have a good relationship with Wagner’s leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, has not been heard from for several days and has been detained, according to three people familiar with the matter.”

He is a lot more competent than most of the other top Gens, so for the sake of Ukraine hope he stays unheard of.

Yes. I've lived there. Though you weren't asking me, I can tell you unequivocally that Russians are used to living with hardships and squalor - and are much more hardy than the average US citizen.

This doesn't make Russia better, it just makes Russians more used to dealing with hardship.

I made very clear why I believe American society will collapse before Russia. If you had said you simply disagree then thats fine but insinuating me hating the entire western world is more a reflection of your ill intended character than anything else. I live in Canada, love it, with all its own challenges and limitations, and would defend the country with my life and serve when called to arms to defend the country even though I am not a citizen. I see this as my civic duty.

In very simple terms one last time, make whatever you like of it

    * I don't hate any country nor individual.

    * I find American culture and consumerism repulsive and Americans generally uninformed, undereducated (especially compared to other leading economies) , and believe a majority grossly mistreats their own bodies and souls as a result of addictions most suffer from. The educated and prudent represent a tiny minority among slobs.

    * I have been to Russia multiple times and I honestly felt a lot safer traveling there than I did in many US states or cirities. I found most Russians incredibly kind and curious, not that I did not witness a lot of generosity and kindness among America's heartland. But what I can say for sure is that even Russians in remote locations knew for sure more about the rest of the world than the average American, without a doubt. Whatever happens to Putin or the regime, Russians love their country. Americans on the other side pledge allegiance to mammon, nothing else. I speak in generalized terms of course. The rest is virtue signaling, trying to not stick out for fear of reprisal or exclusion. The amount of selfishness and the multiple addictions many Americans suffer from will eventually catch up with the US. Makes one wonder why so many individuals must numb themselves if life is so fantastic. They must be running away from something. In Russia alcohol consumption is through the roof but that's pretty much it, you generally don't see the same bullshit in Russia than you witness in the US, unless you specifically look for it.

    * I hang out on an American discussion forum because I enjoy the rare exchange with like minded informed individuals on very specific topics (non politics). The rest here in politics is simply just cinema. Why do you see movies? It's entertainment, you get the drift. For that matter I could not care less whether this is an American or Russian, or Japanese message board. The content is in English which allows many of various backgrounds to participate on some topics that are of interest to me.

    * Why are you enjoying the low prices of Chinese made products when you dislike China, Chinese leadership, and the Chinese way of life so much? Equivalently, I take full advantage of American financial markets while I don't have to love American society and its rather disgusting perversions.

    * if you feel so indebted to the "third world" (tip from any educated individual: that term has been superseded multiple times) perhaps it might be fitting for you to sell your nice little house in Norway, pack up, and dedicate the rest of your life to helping everyone you feel called to in "third world" countries. I feel God placed me in a certain community and that is where I try to help those in need around me.

Which shows you have not been anywhere in Russia at all. Neither do statistics support your view. Most Russians would storm for the exits if that held remotely true. They don't.
