Russell 2000

The Russell 2000 made a new high yesterday, and it is now down on the day. It has been the market leader---I am cautious up here. Anybody else have any thoughts?

 

Seems like that's what lots of other people are noticing too.

 

While we're on the topic, how exactly are most small-cap funds riding this index, thru an ETF or futures? How do market makers usually hedge in the russell, given that there are 2000 names in there. Are there a few names that account for the majority of the indexes moves that they can concentrate their funds in?
