Russell 2000 iShares ETC Index Options - using Yahoo data

Discussion in 'Data Sets and Feeds' started by psytrade, Aug 13, 2008.

  1. Can someone please explain why yahoo data posts two quotes for all options in this series?

The 70 sept put for example has two different prices

    70.00 DIWUR.X 0.89 0.13 0.91 0.94 9,296 60,136
    70.00 IQQUR.X 1.24 0.04 1.20 1.26 3,509 129,487

The previous close, and todays closing price for both options is different, though the strike is the same. Any explanation would be appreciated. Thanks

  2. Typically yahoo lists multiples when there are non-standard options. In this case, one option (DIWUR) expires on regular expiration Fri in Sep (37 days from now), and the other (IQQUR) expires at the end of the month (48 days from now). The IQQUR option is a "quarterly". I think you will most likely see this function you will see in most index ETFs/cash settled indicies (SPX, NDX, RUT, et. al)

  3. thanks very much!
