Verizon FIOS has been offering 1000 Mbps for years.
You can also get corporate and fibre connections that are way faster than that. The point was to compare broadband home packages, as if you move to a rural area what would be your standard connection.
Although I never had major detectable issues in London, in general UK internet speed appears to be one of the slowest. 47th in the world, one of the worst in Europe.
I pay about $40 for my regular residential internet and the download speed checked is about 580Mbps
If that is true, given it's from the Guardian so shouldn't be fake news, I am very negatively surprised. I never find it annoying downloading movies and my annoy threshold is about 3-5 mins.
How is London compared to Paris in terms of Africanity ?
