Port is a fucking jackass who believes keeping his money at a firm that has 5 or so clients is better.

All this a-hole does is start the same bullshit thread about IB.

To go with the flow of some other's complaints:

this guy just works for another firm and gets paid to come here and bash IB. He is nothing but a paid to bitch stooge.

  4. Many things conspiring agains the business model?

Perhaps a drying up of volume if we settle into a long protracted bear market? Obama's Wall street versus Main street rants? Reinstitution of the uptick rule? The .25% transaction tax? Increase in capital gains tax?

The new world order definitely wants to limit short term speculation.

Don't forget Korea. Futures trading is a huge thing there. Bigger than anywhere else.

If you listen to the conference call you will realise that TP will buy back all outstanding shares at book value. He bought 65,000 just above book value last year.

  8. About 15% of IB went public...
For an average price of $30.01/share.

TP can now buy it all back for about $14.00...
And a cool $600 million profit...
Nice work if you can get it.

But IB is going in the other direction...
Watch for some major takeovers when the dust starts to settle.

Note TP is still on the sidelines with his powder dry...
While the early, greedy carnivores from Buffet to BAC to WFC...
    Have serious indigestion.
