Good luck with your fantasy. You do realize that the first cruise ship set to sail from Florida in late June is Celebrity Cruises Edge on June 26th. Celebrity Cruises, a subsidiary of RCL, still requires adult passengers without exemptions to be vaccinated to hit the 95% threshold. What is Ron DeSantis going to do about this -- just blather and push more wind. Once again I am completely correct -- and you are just trying to drive a twisted narrative.
Earlier he indicated that you would not be able to take a cruise un-vaccinated. Now, he is claiming that nothing has changed and that people who say they are vaccinated will still have to prove it on board even though you don't have to be vaccinated to get on board. He's making this change to try and keep his schadenfreude with regard to American's liberty intact and also his ego as he can't admit that he's made a gross error.----One in a line of many.
In case anyone needs a refresher on what GWB was claiming before, please the postings quoted below-----
Yes -- all three of the cruise lines earlier announced that vaccinations would be required for 16 and older. This is fully documented in all the articles I posted. Royal Caribbean -- after completing test cruises -- announced on Friday that they would not be requiring 95% vaccinated passengers but would still require everyone to state if they are vaccinated and provide proof if they claim they are. Unvaccinated cruisers will be subject to additional health protocols (yet to be announced) that are likely to include wearing masks in public spaces (how would you like to be the sole adult idiot forced to wear a mask on the ship because you are an anti-vaxxer). Note all the other cruise lines (except for Carnival) at this point will require everyone over the age of 16 to be vaccinated. This includes Celebrity Cruises, an RCL subsidiary, whose ship the Edge will be the first one to leave Florida on June 26th. The Celebrity Cruises requirements from the link above: All guests 16 years and older must be fully vaccinated with all COVID-19 vaccine doses administered at least 14 days prior to sailing. As of August 1, 2021, all guests age 12 and older must be fully vaccinated. All UK guests sailing on Celebrity Silhouette 18 years and older must be fully vaccinated. Crew onboard will be vaccinated.
Go ahead and try and parse your words as much as you want and try to back-track. Here are your words----
Seems like RCL found a way to sail and make it seem like they reversed. If you are not vaccinated they will basically make you get a test before entering the ship which is as good as being vaccinated because you ensure the ship is clean environment prior to sailing. But then you are subject to different rules on the ship. So an unvaccinated person expecting to walk around without a mask and not follow health protocols is in for a surprise at sea where U.S. law does not apply. Now imagine the cruise ship will have some sort of indication so they know who is vaccinated and who is not to enforce the mask rule in their public spaces. If you read it closely, RCL just found a way to cruise but still uphold their health requirement for the time being.
This was overlooked: According to CDC rules, cruise ships that don’t meet certain vaccination thresholds for passengers and crew must first do a successful test cruise before they can restart revenue cruises. So the vaccination requirement was just to avoid test cruises..... if a cruise line does successful test cruises then the vaccination requirement is not required by the CDC and RCL et al can do whatever they feel comfortable with (though they will require all staff to be vaccinated). This was much ado about nothing since the cruise ships were doing test cruises in June to meet CDC requirements and they claimed that bookings already indicated 90% of people were vaccinated. Cruise ships get to claim they did what they were supposed to no matter what deSantis said and deSantis gets to claim his political victory haha..... another day in politics.
