Roy Cooper - We shouldn't allow rich people to send their kids to private schools on public dime

It's all over the internet, and Cooper hasn't denied it either.

Cooper failed to mention that he sent his own children to a private school, and that the vast majority of those using school choice programs such as vouchers or education savings accounts across the United States are (and have always been) in the lower and middle classes.

Whats the hypocrisy if he didn't use tax payers funds to do so?
His argument is don't take from public schools to give to private schools,no hypocrisy if he didn't do that.

The hypocrisy is that you have a politician who choose a private school over a public one because of the benefits - real or perceived. And he's denying those less well off the ability to do so by use of vouchers. If he was pushing for only the rich to not be allowed to use a voucher, that would be one thing. He is not. He's pushing for no use of vouchers for school choice.

So in essence, he is defending the rich ability to do so while denying the poorer the ability to choose a better school. That, my friend, is the hypocrisy.

And you can relay this to Cuddles, who is trolling me because he's butthurt about the Indian maga claim (while still hiding behind ignore).

 

So let me get this straight. Gov. Cooper sent two of his daughters fully to public schools. His third daughter went to public schools for most of her years until the middle of high school. But finished out a couple years of her education at St. Mary's (near the governor's mansion) after Roy Cooper was elected governor -- which he did not pay for with public vouchers.

That's some fine evidence of the governors "hypocrisy" they are pushing there.

So suddenly the NPC has flipped from "There's no proof he ever sent his kid to private schools" to "its not that bad". Where's that back peddle meme again?

The point is simple - if you think that sending your kid to private school is the right move, but want others to not have the ability to do so, you're a hypocrite. You can spin it anyway you want, NPC, but that's what makes you an NPC.

 

Sorry, I disagree. Again, he's stating the poor and middle class (who cannot afford the private school attendance without vouchers) shouldn't be allowed to have that opportunity. Only the rich, like himself.

This is not about funding, but opportunity.

I would think a champion of the poor such as yourself would understand this argument.

 

That's why we need more school choice- with vouchers- to promote more options.

Not every private school is or has to be some brick and ivy set-up.
