Ross Cameron Small Account Challenge: up 100% in 4 days

Discussion in 'Stocks' started by guru, Dec 6, 2019.

  1. I have also experimented with stops (I use NinjaTrader) and found that with longer term strategies, my returns were greater without them. However, my maximum adverse excursions were also larger. So, the bottom line with longer term strategies is you need to be able to (potentially) sit through large drawdowns without freaking out. I only use ETF's for my long term strategies as I don't like specific company risk.

For short term day trades I always use a stop. With the type of stocks that can rise 50%-100% in a day, anything can and will happen. So I like to know what my risk is before I enter.

  3. This was posted already on Elite Trader, but thanks for bumping up this ancient thread.

As a side-note of interest, I looked on Ross's youtube channel yesterday, he was still uploading his trash, LOL.

I really don’t understand what exactly he did wrong. Baseless claims? He had audited results. I don’t believe he made any guarantees. Sounds like a witch hunt.

  5. Well...if you look at the details he made tens of millions of dollars, but the fine was $3 million. That might have something to do with it.
