Washington, DC: Congressman Ron Paul has returned $141,580 of unspent office funds to the US Treasury. This represents just over 9% of the total office funds, and an increase over the $100,000 returned last year. âSince my first year in Congress I have managed my office in a frugal manner, instructing staff to provide the greatest possible service to the people of the 14th district at the least possible cost to taxpayers,â said Paul. The surplus funds are intended to go towards paying down the national debt. http://www.ronpaul.com/2011-03-29/ron-paul-returns-unused-portion-of-office-budget-to-us-treasury/
This dude's actions back up his mouth. Now how many others in DC flap their gums while selling out the rest of the country so they and their kin can get a nice cozy deal???
Does Ron Paul return pork that benefits his own district? http://freestudents.blogspot.com/2007/07/ron-pauls-personal-pork-projects.html
Probably not, but that's not why he was elected to serve his district. The funds he was granted for his office he did not use to serve himself.
So if he votes against a pork laden bill...he turns around and accepts that pork for his district when the bill passes...this makes him consistent? Hardly...
