Personally, I believe a requirement to be POTUS would be active duty in the military.
If you're military or ex-military, you know what I mean. The Commander In Chief should have done a tour of duty on foreign soil before he sends citizens into harm's way... better yet, in a time of war. Not all times are that of war, but ALL times in the military are actively or in preparation for war. (I served in the Vietnam war.. my father was wounded in WW II, just in case anyone is wondering whether I'm "talkin' out my ass.")
It should be a VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, and well thought-out decision to send those under your command into the battle where many will not return.
