No it isn't dumbass. That's the role of a secondary news source repeating a story ,like say huffpoo repeating an AP story verbatim without comment. An academic paper would at least include some original content from the author then use selective quotes to make his points and cite it in the bibliography. However, I can understand WHY you think it reaches ACADEMIC standards. I'm sure that's all that was required of you as an AFFIRMATIVE ACTION academic quota student.
