I offered to have the mods step in and enforce the bet (IPs and whatever). Jem has yet to respond definitively, even though he made some initial noises about wanting to take the bet. Can't seem to pin him down, though. And my offer will not remain indefinitely.

Care to step in for him? We'll get the mods to enforce the deal upon agreement, so there can be no weaseling out. Obama wins, you lose the bet. Obama loses, you win the bet. Check the option you prefer (I suggest you go for the gusto):

    No. I don't trust you.

You are fundamentally dishonest and not the sort of person I enter into agreements with.

I made my money because of my association with some honest and hard working people and you just don't register with me as being one of them not to mention your proclivity for buggery and all things depraved. No sir, I will not have anything to do with you on a personal basis.

Hmmm...Sounds like no Christmas card for you this year, brother Brass.

What is this? Have you suddenly become a Man of the Cloth or something?

Oh, but I have already received the card. Its theme is "377OHMS
is all hat and no cattle."

He doesn't need to trust me if the mods are introduced to enforce the bet. The mods' involvement is like a standby letter of credit issued by a third party, which guarantees payment whatever the creditworthiness of the other side of the transaction may be. Unless, of course, 377OHMS doubts the integrity of the mods as well.

So you see, BSAM, I got about as much as I could get out of cowards like 377OHMS, Tom B. and jem, who don't have a scintilla of integrity between and among them: we were able to observe them skittering and scuttling for cover in broad daylight.

I was between Ghandi and friedman just a little down and right of center.

I thought I would have been a bit more to libertarian and right... but I think they got me with a few questions which did not really hit the right spot so I only agreed when I could have strongly agreed. A few right left questions were difficult to answer.

I do know that corporations have to be controlled otherwise they will put pollution costs back on all of us tax payers...

To me that is really a conservative issue.
If the resources are to be properly allocated they have to be properly priced. But I am sure my answers moved me back towards the middle.

So if I am the middle, imagine how whacky and left brass and stu and free thinker are.

    Ouch!

I know you boys ain't gonna just sit there and take this.

You got to admit that Brassy has a point about this kind of wager when the mods will be the enforcers.

Many people here clearly have a poor opinion of you Brass. You seem to lack a single redeeming feature. I know you think your little utterances are clever but the truth is that they just aren't.

I don't like to demean the elderly but you give every indication that you are an impoverished and embittered old man with very little ahead of you. Your circumstance would be sad if you weren't such a twat.

I'm positive the mods are thoroughly sick of you as well. What makes you think they would be bothered with your foolish schema? They would dismiss you out-of-hand like I have.

As a former moderator, I can tell you with a degree of certainty they will have nothing to do with enforcing any "bet".
