There's just too many people on this board who can't face reality. I'm not for Obama, but I can't change what is right in front of my face. I can hope, though.
in defense of intrade.the sup ct call was an emotional one. who can read minds. the election results are data driven.
ramuessen and gallup of running averages of the previous 5 days.... If you trade.. its like a moving average... so when you take an data point off and put a new data point on one end the change will have about 20% effect on the running 5 day number. so it will take 5 days of post debate data... to see the full bump, if there is one.
not even close.. click around on realclearpolitics... half the media has articles likes this.. http://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...ee5b92-0e65-11e2-bb5e-492c0d30bff6_story.html Reelection campaigns after a failed presidential term â so failed that Obama barely even bothers to make the case, preferring to blame everything on his predecessor â hinge almost entirely on whether the challenger can meet the threshold of acceptability. Romney crossed the threshold Wednesday night. Reagan won his election (Carter was actually ahead at the time) when he defused his caricature as some wild, extreme, warmongering cowboy. In his debate with Carter, he was affable, avuncular and reasonable. Thatâs why with a single aw-shucks line, âThere you go again,â the election was over. Romney had to show something a little different: That he is not the clumsy, out-of-touch plutocrat that the paid Obama ads and the unpaid media have portrayed him to be. He did, decisively. Thatâs why MSNBC is on suicide watch. Why the polls show that, by a margin of at least 2 to 1, voters overwhelmingly gave the debate to Romney. And he won big in an unusual way. This could be the only presidential debate ever won so definitively in the absence of some obvious and ruinous gaffe, like Gerald Fordâs âthere is no Soviet domination of Eastern Europe.â Romney by two touchdowns. LOL. They could start dropping like flies after Ryan chops Biden down at the knees. It won't be until the town hall debate that they have a chance of seeing a near even showing from Obama. Even then it is questionable if they can't load the questions from the audience.
the left just caved.... sullivan maher many others... so its ok for the left to tell the truth for a few days. Everyone agrees the president has surrounded himself with bullshitters and yes men. no one challenged him. so he goes off about his 4 trillion in tax cuts and Romney says... I love that 4 trillion in tax cuts... the only problem is that the CBO says you are running trillion dollar deficit, this year, next year... and on. Only a fool separated by yes man would have tried that silly line. Obama has no idea about how bad his policies are... everyone around lies. He thought he could tell Romney, Romney had a 5 trillion dollar revenue decrease... because he read some study, which assumes no growth and made assumptions about Romney budget. That was a leftist, fooled by his own staff bullshit. The emperor has no clothes is a common theme in todays media.
Your party is demonized bc you're hypocrites. You talk about fiscal conservatism, but in reality you're inflationists. Cut taxes w/o a supporting reduction in spending. You pay for it with fiat through the printing press and then send your dollars overseas to avoid the devaluation. Your boy Nixon started the downward spiral.
republican polticians are sellouts just like the dems. the neocons were founded by socialists... they wanted big govt. Dems just got purchased by Wall Street and the Insurance companies instead of single payer. but screw you, for calling me a hypocrite, almost every person on the right who is not a politician wants a capped and balanced budget, many want cuts, most of want to see cuts in the military as well. ... that same desire is why there is a tea party... but spending wolves in sheep's clothing demonize them and call them extreme for wanting a balanced budget. ' Who is the hypocrite here. Personally, I like... Ron Paul called for a capped budget and zero personal income tax... and I say pay off all the debt at once with one big print. No more borrowing. Now whether we get to balanced budget through cuts or inflation is up to the politicians... I prefer cuts... but I know they don't have the balls.
