People have to understand that every European nation of any decently large population size that has an extensive socialist welfare net has a lower GDP per capita, adjusted for PPP than the United States. But if your choice is lower standards for the other guy vs. gov't assistance, the gov't parasite will ALWAYS vote liberal. You assume that they actually care about the macro picture. Most of these folks are either on permanent assistance or economic losers who can't compete in any economy.
