I know know, capitalism and regulation are not mutually exclusive lol. Sometimes you have to frame it like this to get on the good side of the super capitalists xD. Avoiding pointless arguments is often a skill in itself.
No. Just no. You give the current administration carte blanche to do that and they'll shut down retail trading altogether.
Preferably under a non-partisan bureau segment of the govt, though exec branch has some influence it's true. Still think it needs to be done.
It just never works. There's regulatory capture, revolving doors, corruption everywhere (NGOs are some of the worst and get away with crazy tax treatment). This idea of benign overseers who work for a modest salary and do their jobs with high integrity just doesn't exist...and if does/did, never lasts long.
One 'guru' I used to follow out of interest was David Jaffee, (before his thumbnails turned silly faces like everyone else). IIRC he did work in investment banking and did some big deals while there, but got too burnt out and quit due to stress. He had a whole list of 'guru's he was outing in his reviews. In any case, he did get a bunch of cease & desist warnings and other letters by lawyers. I remember in one video David had responded to someone (maybe it was Warrior Trading?) who had threatened a lawsuit, and stated that he sure hopes that he can get sued for libel, so that he can get into litigation with them and then subpoena to get the real trading records from the broker. Ahahahaha!
Back in 2012, Fritz had already called out Heikotter's scam. (https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...ucational-vendors.212110/page-62#post-3408499) Fritz had even setup a blog page on his exposing of it, with updates from 2009 to 2018: https://rockwelltradingscam.wordpress.com/home/ https://rockwelltradingscam.wordpress.com/scam/ So good job of "Real P&L" on subpoenae of results of Rockwell's bogus "trading" for another confirmation on the snakeoil stench of "Rockwell". Then of course the ridiculous amount of faked or copywriter "review" "testimonials" on so called Trustpilot: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/rockwelltrading.com Same thing that Warrior Trading scumbag and Raging Bull and plenty of others filling up fake "5 star" testimonials on 'trustpilot' with their shilled hired copywriters. In my opinion, they're all faked and snakeoil if they make money selling "trading educational" product of some kind, at least 99.999% of them. Emmett of Tradingschools.org helped confirm a bunch of them as well as some legacy ones. I remember a former guru on bigmike's admitted it's a real temptation to just stop trying live trading when making more or stable money from a guru pretend to trade and teach it "business". https://www.tradingschools.org/ragi...and-kyle-dennis-have-been-charged-with-fraud/ https://www.tradingschools.org/raging-bull-business-plan/ Warrior Trading (& "pump and dump") scam: https://www.zdnet.com/article/warri...-3-million-for-misleading-day-trading-scheme/ https://www.wwlp.com/news/local-new...to-refund-investors-after-false-gains-claims/ https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/new...isleading-consumers-false-investment-promises
Markus Heitkoetter sued the youtuber and as part of the defamation suit the youtuber got the judge to force Markus to send him the financial statements. (it's mentioned in the youtube video)
True but they usually could not make a living with their disturbed mind because they were fact checked. Now, anyone can be anything and say whatever and nobody cares to verify information anymore.
