Rock will never die, but it will never be like it was when it first came out (60's - 70's) Some music genres will be played forever. Classical, Jazz, Blues, Rythm and Blues, rock, raggae and even hip hop and some pop music will last forever. People change taste, so the commercial side of it has to adapt, like a dodgy car dealer has to adapt to changing customers. Simple repetitive beats with a couple of chords attract crowds. A bit like shitty TV.... Some people like it because it's light, and it goes well with lazyness and tiredness. Have you ever been to a party where thousands seem to worship the DJ..? That is musical ignorance mixed with drugs. But most of this repetitive noise called music, disappear like a winter season. A bit like fashions Vs trends. One last a season, one will stay for a while. Rock is there to stay, but the conditions are very different for new good rock to come up. Enjoy the classics, there is plenty of it to discover. Some people find jazz annoying because in fact their brain can not process it and the complexity bothers them, I find those people's brain boring.

Name a tune and if they feel like playin it, i bet a dollar they can and it will sound freakin great. https://www.smithkotzen.com/ This below is slowed down for stage presentation but still not too shabby oldy. Sounds great off the vinyl Loud for the first time if you never heard it before. Worthwhile to skip this vid and get in front of a great sterio with some other music lovers, get right for the night and wade into your new find. Whole album is good time. Invite your neighbors over. They won't complain about the noise if they help make it.
I think the thread is about NEW rock music, not 3-4 decades old. That is why I posted about a brand new album.
The Zeitgeist, the "spirit of the age" that spawned Rock and Roll, like all things, buds, blooms and fades, to be supplanted by a next zeitgeist, and a next.... To revisit the vids of geriatric dinosaurs plying their highly choreographed extravaganzas on acres of stage is one thing. To Create new Rock and Roll without re-plowing an already highly cultivated field and arriving at essentially a derivitave of already harvested and presented fruit is a huge task. Music business is just as cut-throat and competitive as any business on the planet. Paying the bills with a new Rock and Roll band of fresh faces? I Want To Believe!
