Robotic/Auto-execution self-designed program trading

    Exactly: none of these automated systems can yet reliably process a news feed and make a decision. Some can come close but this is still a ways off ....... and if you know anyone that claims this ability then please send their name over to stockholm.

    However, choose your system parameters correctly and even on a news incident you will be ok. You can actually calculate these things in advance and basically know the maximum deviation that a subsystem will produce, even under a very large system change.

    Yes, you will be "OK", but I'd like to have the override to be a bit better than "OK".:cool:

    ... there are a number of ways to do this: if you are only dealing with one or perhaps two systems then yes, you will be actively using the overide and will have the ability to intervene often. On the other hand if you have a collection of individual subsystems then it may actually be better to leave them on autopilot and monitor their actions: yes some will incurr losses but the net result of several systems may well be superior.

    Just depends upon your approach and how finely tuned your systems are ... some systems will require more watching than others.
