Do you have any opinion on the agri futures right now? ----->No opinion, sorry. Were you labeled an underachiever early in life? How much sleep do you get on average? Did you burn bridges at Schon... -----> For some odd reason, I'm now wondering if answering personal questions here is the right thing for me to do. (But I definitely did NOT burn any bridges with Schonfeld or Dmitry.)
On second thought, about ten different guys here backed me up vs. that short-bus kid, which tells me that if people want me to answer their personal questions, I might as well keep doing so. Were you labeled an underachiever early in life? ---> Kind of. Keep in mind that I was forced to switch languages (from English to Hebrew) at age 11 when my family moved to Israel. Imagine having to move right now to China or somewhere without having a firm grasp on the local language & culture. Imagine how incompetent/incapable you'd immediately become, due to your being a fish-out-of-water foreigner. A language barrier can be a brick wall that blocks achievement. Also, I'd probably have made a lousy soldier in any language, just because some people (INTP's who prefer rational, independent thought to Milgram-failing blind obedience) were never meant to be soldiers in the first place. How much sleep do you get on average? ---> This varies greatly. I generally do better if I don't get as much sleep as I want. Why do you ask? What's your theory? As for the last question, Schonfeld no longer has a presence in Chicago at all. If I move from here at all, it would be to somewhere outside of the U.S. entirely. Dmitry is still based locally, but Dmitry is complicated (no need to go too deeply into that one)...
This short-silver position feels a little bit iffy right now, doesn't it? I can't quite put a finger on what's wrong exactly, but sizing down just a little feels like the right thing to do. I've got an offer out to exit (only) 8% of my ZSL position at $12.88. Last trade was $12.87, so this should be filled momentarily...
We have a multi-day compression point which is when anxiety builds. Fading compression point breakouts does not have an edge, to put it mildly.
So I exited 8% of the position at $12.87 before the close (changed my limit to a penny lower to get filled), and have some small limit orders out there in AH trading to exit a little more, if ZSL happens to trade above the closing price. I'm still holding on to the lion's share of this position, at least for now...
I assume you based your short on technicals. But fundamentally speaking, all these Koreas skirmish can cause international anxiety when gold (and I assume silver too) usually rises in price. What say you?
I don't blame you if you don't answer these questions. I wouldn't. Schonfeld now has a stat-arb group in Europe. Maybe that could be an option.
