I'm OK with it as long as it drags the DAX and EUR indices along with it. No more cheap money... repatriation doesn't seem to be working for them.
Traded South of '270 on the cash. ($306,400) on the exotic; ($51,400) net on position. I can't bring myself to type the low-print on Nikkei cash right now.
Please explain... why do the robots make it fun. I too like the SPUs...there's just something about it. The Kospi, Topix, Nikkei & DAX can be fun though because of the volatility, but one must be super careful with those babies.
Most large moves are faded, and the bots add liquidity. I have a DAX double barrier trading, but I normally steer-clear of that particular index. Gamma is priced very dearly right now, so it's worth the risk.
I'd suspect my counterparty gunned the barrier at '270 since it was breached by less than 4 points... but I can't imagine they would make such an attempt for $300k. This is the 8th barrier trade >$200k in which I was taken out by less than 500basis. The record goes to a DAX exotic posted to the previous journal -- traded through the upside barrier by roughly 60 cents before falling 80 points.
