I remember this comedian from the 70s. I think all Gallagher ever did was smash watermelons (and other stuff) with a huge mallet. Guess it was funny back then? Anyway, RIP.

 

No, he was a full-on stand-up comedian. The sledge-o-matic thing was just a small part of his routine.
