The first movie I saw a kid living in Rego Park, NYC was The French Connection. I remember watching The Conversation in film theory class in high school and it was an amazing film. His portrayal of Lex Luthor in Superman was great. The interaction with him & Ned Beatty was hilarious. Hackman kind of reprised his Conversation role in a 1999 film called Enemy Of The State with Will Smith. Very good movie. That movie had a parade of great character actors.
