The rest of that quote above, which was omitted where it says: -he continued- went like this: "but they don't know how to get us out."
Did you disagree with Afghanistan? What about the other 249 military interventions the US has performed since 1991?
I don't like how Afghanistan was waged, but we certainly had a right to go there as they allowed Al Qaeda to set up base, train and plan attacks from there. As for other interventions would have to go over one by one.I disagree with getting involved in Vietnam,Libya,Iraq etc.I support giving military aid in some cases but not troops on the ground.I mostly support intervening against big countries like Russia and China causing world wide chaos.
Tony... If you and I were in some nasty bar, sitting in some dark nasty booth way back in a corner, listening to some "never gonna make it but they do sound good band" playing way worn out covers way too loud.... I'd raise my glass to you and say: "Here's to three years from now Tony... may the best we can troll each over always be statues." Cheers.
Ok, honest answer. That's all I can ask for. All I'd say is that a lot of how you're looking at it is subjective, of course. I'm reminded of the "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter". There is a Russian "Tony Stark" right now arguing that his country is fighting the oppression and expansion of NATO. And while I personally believe the world would be a better place without Putin, I don't believe we should be pissing away all of our money in the Ukraine (or anywhere else, for that matter, other than our own country and people).
