President Biden’s approval is hovering just above 60 percent more than four months into his presidency, buoyed by his handling of the coronavirus pandemic and improving views of the U.S. economy, according to a new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll released exclusively to The Hill.

Overall, 62 percent of respondents said they either strongly or somewhat approve of the job Biden is doing in the White House, while 38 percent said they disapprove. By comparison, former President Trump scored 45 percent approval in a May 2017 Harvard CAPS/Harris poll.

President Joe Biden’s approval rating is at 60%, according to a new poll released by Hill-HarrisX.

Sixty percent of registered voters in the May 17-19 poll said they approved of the job Biden was doing, a figure similar to the previous poll in late April. Of that 60%, 27% said they “strongly approved” of Biden’s performance with 33% saying they “somewhat approve.”

Biden’s disapproval rating of 40% was split with 28% saying they “strongly disapprove” and 12% saying they “somewhat disapprove.”

The president gets a 94% approval rating from his own party - 52% “strongly approve” and 42% “somewhat approve” – and 68% among independents (21% “strongly approve” and 47% “somewhat approve.”) The numbers fall sharply among Republicans who give him an approval rating of 23% and a disapproval rating of 77% - 58% “strongly disapprove” and 19% who “somewhat disapprove.”

So, you are really happy that Biden lied to you, broke a campaign promise, and will cancel $0 in student debt?

Could be putting it off until re election or prior to mid terms. His best play would be to cancel 10,000 in Sept 2024 with a promise to cancel 50,000 more if he's re elected.
