No disrespect to the OP or to Santelli, but this âtake downâ partly may be a ratings gambit for CNBC. The more Cramer is a âtrain wreck,â the more âtrain wreckâ fans will watch. Itâs the difference between experts on trains -- who enjoy seeing a fast train smoothly running and, as they watch, appreciate the myriad of forces at work in what they see -- and the average putz, who knows that trains are noisy and run on rails, but no more than that. Guess which event putz is drawn to, the smooth running train or the train wreck? Which one does he fully understand? In those answers lie the explanation of Cramerâs appeal. I mean how else can you explain Cramer's recent publicizing of -- and this is his story, I don't know if it's true -- of a woman coming up to him to cry to him about how she lost her savings following his advice? It's rubbernecking at a wreck, nothing else.
