Strong is one thing, dumb is another. Perry is dumb and Americans will not elect a dumb hick from Texas again.
Only a dumb hick would call Social Security a Ponzi scheme and think he will win Florida. Even Cheney agrees: http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/dick-cheney-rick-perry-14467031
Correct. Obama can be compared to Carter more easily than Clinton. The President gets too much credit for a good economy and too much criticism for a bad one. There's only so much a Prez can do. Obama inherited this economy and there is only so much he can do but voters will pin it on his back. He has a tough campaign ahead of him. President tend not to get re-elected during periods of high unemployment. That's the reason Obama is trying to pass the jobs bill. He is trying to secure his job. Giving businesses tax breaks to hire the long-term unemployed is fine but it's only worthwhile if there is a job to be filled. A 4k tax break to hire someone at 40k + bennies doesn't add up unless there is a bonafide need to fill the job.
He recognizes it for what it is. I'd say that makes him pretty smart and forth coming. The taxes for social security were intended to be held in a trust account, not co-mingled in the general revenue fund. The social security system is pretty close to what Madoff was doing.
Surely you don't believe what you just wrote, do you. Neither of knows what Obama is thinking. My thoughts are this is what Obama thinks will help get some jobs going.
The number 1 issue for this election is jobs. Jobs, jobs, jobs. Obama needs to be on record as doing something to create jobs, jobs, jobs. This bill absolutely is part of his re-election strategy. I do believe his intentions are good and farther than his re-election but it is absolutely tied into his re-election strategy.
