When majority of those appointed as aides or assistant to politicians make six figures at a mininum, that is not a surprise! Wasn't Chelsea Clinton given a $10 million salary because of her political connections to her first job? We live in a society that tolerates nepotism and corruption! If we just hired people based on their qualifications instead, of political connections, a lot of Democrats would not be getting these 6 figure jobs. Of course, politicians have enriched themselves in Congress with a number of them having net worths of $150 million to $250 million a piece!
I think the conservative movement is going through an identity crisis. As wealthhas been generated through the new economy of ideas, it’s shifted (first with the religious right and now with trump) to focus on the uneducated: those who can’t prosper in the new economy. THere is still vestiges of the old Conservative party which catered to the 1percenters - which is why trump has picked a cabinet full of crony capitalists.
That said, there is a lot of poor Democrats as well! How many Democrats take public assistance like welfare, section 8, food stamps, etc. from the government? That is what keeps the Democrats in power! Think about that.
