Report: Clinton Won Richest Counties – 64 Percent of US GDP

Hillary Clinton lost the presidential election, but won the balloting in regions that generate nearly two-thirds of the American economy, a new analysis shows.

According to the Brookings Institution analysis, the less-than-500 counties Clinton won nationwide combined to generate 64percent of America's economic activity in 2015, the Washington Post reported.

The more-than-2,600 counties President-elect Donald Trump won combined to generate 36 percent of the country'seconomic activity last year.

With the exceptions of the Phoenix, Ariz., and Fort Worth, Texas, areas, and a large part of Long Island, N.Y., Clinton won every large-sized economic county in the country, the researchers found.

"This appears to be unprecedented, in the era of modern economic statistics, for alosingpresidential candidate," the Post reported.

The last candidate to win the popular vote but lose the electoral college, Democrat Al Gore in 2000, won counties that generated about 54 percent of the country's gross domestic product, the Brookingsresearcherscalculated.

The Brookings analysis found counties with higher GDP per capita were more likely to vote for Clinton over Trump, as were counties with higher population density

    Uh, yeah...
I’m well aware that our universities are infested with Marxism and thus most college grads are Marxist Dems by the time they leave.
What I’m also aware of is that STEM, specifically EM, is heavily Conservative, and massive swaths of ST also end up as Conservative voters.
Find me a Conservative who is studying Gender Studies. Likely it 99:1 In favor of Libs. Why? Because it’s a moronic waste of time and money. Libs do that well.

    1. first of all many sources on the net... put the number where I put it...41 percent. your image seems to be some sort of asterisk. Perhaps it applies to the professional job category which "a" is talking about.

    2. Nevertheless, even that argument of yours is misleading..
You stated the govt workforce was highly educated.
Highly educated would be a graduate degree.
(you did not use the term relatively)

So it seems once again you are the one talking without knowledge.

Since you just showed us only 25% of Federal workers have masters degrees you agree you were incorrect when you said Federal workers are usually highly educated.

    Counties don’t vote.
    Counties don’t pay taxes.
    Individuals do.
    Hard for you to understand.

Only 25%? That’s 1 in 4 workers with advanced degrees!

The only thing you’ve proved in this thread is you will argue anything no matter how stupid it makes you look.

This thread is about how the richest districts are voting democrat and the poorest are voting republican. None of those districts have anything to do with the government. You tried to change the point to some of the richest counties being in and around DC. I made the factual point that where there is wealth there is an educated workforce and stated the federal government has a much higher educated workforce than the private sector because that’s a fact. If you can’t understand that then you are a fucking moron.

And your argument that we should not count Government spending as part of gdp is stupid too because the government obviously adds value to the nation.
