The Turtle performance data while under Dennis is not proof? And before I even attempt to counter your skepticism, I think a re-read noting some of the names and players in my book not affiliated with Dennis would be prudent. I am not going to retype the book here as a rebuttal! As a side note, I never found the full details as he declined to be interviewed for my book, but I have been told that Niederhoffer had no affection for Dennis.
not proof of the supposed "bet" or "experiment" rather simply proof of traders who worked for dennis. no idea about niederhoffer opinion of dennis. surf
I pulled all CFTC/NFA files of the Turtles who registered as CTAs after working for Dennis. They list working for Dennis. You lie on those and the government does not take kindly. I guess 15 or so people from all walks of life from all around the country could have lied, could have formed a conspiracy to create a great story, and risked severe government penalty to keep the ruse going?
you dont get my point. who cares about their past, most everyone has done things prior to trading, this doesn't verify the "experiment or "bet" story claims. surf
One thing at a time. You were questioning whether these people worked for Dennis. They clearly did. Many had no Chicago or Dennis association prior and I have seen their very diverse and limited resumes before working for Dennis. So how did they come to work for Dennis? I believe the WSJ ad that is in my book that Dennis placed gives a good indication where all those "Turtles" came from. You are out on a limb here.
And to humor you with but one example (many are in my book), Chuck LeBeau had one of his employees (Paul Rabar) answer the ad and join up with Dennis. LeBeau had no association with Dennis.
ok. i still maintain the story, although sprinkled with truth, is likely more legend than reality. thanks, surf
Buffett is a great success, no doubt. So questioning a billionaire many times over is not often looked at as wise. That said BRKB had a high of 5059 and closed at 2801 the other day. Dennis hit that thresh hold and was labeled as having blown out. Why don't people talk about Buffett as being in a nasty drawdown now? Is he wearing a bathing suit?
