Markets moved before their was HFT and markets will continue moving after if/when there's no HFT. Simply, there will be volume, volatility and liquidity because good financial institutions and good retail traders will adapt. The odds of there not being HFT is remote...it'll never happen no matter how much they're taxed. HFT will be just as happy to trade against each other even while retail traders are worrying about any new taxes or regulation that impacts retail traders more. wrbtrader
%% LOL It actually helped gun + ammo sales. The way the gov help on college loans has been\they let you skip payments, but interest piles up LOL.
Not if the whole market's depth and volume just get sucked out. Imagine Lake Tahoe drying out? What do you think is going to happen to all the fish in there? There is no adapting.
There's only one way to find out to see whom adapts and whom does not adapt. Simply, will nobody adjust or will some adjust. I'm optimistic that "some" will adapt while the competition are not able to adapt. wrbtrader
