Rich and famous traders made most of their money in the stock market?

  1. And not in commodities or currencies?

Top pros like Warren Buffett, George Soros, Paul Tudor Jones, Jim Simons, etc.

Soros and Jones made most of their profit in equities? I don't know enough about them to answer this, although it's common knowledge that Soros' most famous trade was a currency trade (which is why he's known as "the man who broke the Bank of England"), and Paul Tudor Jones runs a CTA (that "C" is for "Commodities").

Simons' firm trades commodities as well as stocks; although I'd guess they're mostly in stocks, it's not clear to me.

Buffett is the only one who seems like a "definitive" equities guy to me, even though he has been known to take large currency posiitions as well.
