This is correct. The NFL usually wants multi generational artists, because their average fan is usually middle age, I would say.

The half time show is mostly for the non-football fans anyway. That gives them a reason to tune in to a game otherwise they don't care for.

How much different is that name from Vanilla Ice? What kind of a name is that?

Are you saying it is all about the colors?

If you don't like Snoop Dogg then you obviously don't like hip hop. Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Dre and Tupac were the definition of west coast rap music. [Of course the pioneers were actually NWA with Dre, Ice Cube and the late Eazy E.]

Probably the best Dre & Snoop song is from the movie Deep Cover. I remember when I was still a DJ that 12" single was going for $200+ since it was only a promo. Of course their song in The Chronic -- Let Me Ride is great too especially the video.

If Rihanna and her manager Jay-Z's wealth are growing,
then it means there are more LIKES than DISLIKES.

This is exactly what it is accordingly to a good friend that heads the PR department for a NFL football team after he spent about 10 years heading the PR department for a CFL football team.

It's not just professional football. We get a version of the 1/2 time show in high school and college when bands, cheerleaders, and dance squads do their routines to entertain the fans.

It's also the same reason why businesses spend millions of dollars to air their 30-seconds to 1-minute commercials during football games, especially the playoffs and the Superbowl. The difference is that businesses tend to be targeting a new customer for a new type of product.

Regardless, it's almost a billion-dollar business involving what occurs during the Superbowl.

What is amazing is that there are bigger dollar sporting events like the FIFA World Cup soccer...they typically do not have a halftime show. Simply, considering that FIFA World Cup soccer is already the biggest sporting event on the planet...they do not need a halftime show. :D
