the movement of markets is complex enough and that it takes place on so many different time frames make it impossible to decipher
i have been studying trend lines something i have always scoffed at because they are so subjective....
Jessie Livermore once said:there is no bull side and there is no bear side...there is only the right side
Anyone who did higher math in university should have heard of him but I read about him in high school (no, not an Indian high school) in a book about pi (infinity?) because I'm a fucking nerd.
any move which reverses in high momentum from a low or high is a 'corrective' move and should be traded as such. any move, which breaks a low or high,a trendline, in high momentum is also corrective unfortunately like every thing else in trading it is 'relative' and it is also counter intuitive and it is one of market's traps.... this is ,of course ,an observation which you can take and put in perspective of the market. it is not a trading strategy
interesting never new nerds were interested in girls. I was a kind of a nerd too and I would not even look at a girl...no did not look at boys too. 50 years ago nerd was not a word
I understood ranges but in contrast I never could understand trends..... now I am beginning to understand few things about trends and am happier trading them. trends grind and give the impression of going no where. this is because those who move the market do not anyone entering it. but they want traders to take the opposite side and so they make it look like a 'corrective' move. once they want to exit they want traders to enter in the direction of the 'trend', so that they can book their profit and exit. They say the trend is a friend and it is correct, it is a friend but a friend of those who manipulate the market. the market is very efficient fraud machine. that is of course why I hate trends they grind and grind....but till now I never understood why I do not like these trends. and once it is understood then it can be managed
another way of saying it is if there is a fast move from any point that point will be revisited. if that point was in a trend then the trend will continue. if that point was in a range then the range will continue....if the market approaches the point in very low momentum then the range will break
