I've heard from a few folks to be cautious around the holidays, as retailers are becoming more and more strict about imposing mandatory restocking fees. On the one hand, I understand the need to protect themselves from free-renters, on the other, electronic devices are notorious for having compatibility issues or not working as advertised (I've run through many wifi routers because of such issues). http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/restock.asp This is regarding Best Buy's policies (15-25% fee). http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?contentId=1117177044087&id=cat12098&type=page
Well I read through the best buy return policy. I have question. How in the dang do the accountants account for these refunds, with promotional sales and how are restocking charges booked, etc etc.?
