Retailers tightening up manditory restocking fees

  1. I've heard from a few folks to be cautious around the holidays, as retailers are becoming more and more strict about imposing mandatory restocking fees. On the one hand, I understand the need to protect themselves from free-renters, on the other, electronic devices are notorious for having compatibility issues or not working as advertised (I've run through many wifi routers because of such issues).

This is regarding Best Buy's policies (15-25% fee).

  2. Well I read through the best buy return policy.

I have question. How in the dang do the accountants account for these refunds, with promotional sales and how are restocking charges booked, etc etc.?
