Retail sales due out soon

  1. Retail sales this week

Are futures rising in anticipation of 'not as bad as expected' retail sales?

    Dow 8,483.00 39.00 0.46
    S&P 500 873.20 5.10 0.59
    NASDAQ 100 1,211.25 5.25 0.44

Retail sales are expected to be lousy, but bad news already discounted. Now is a good time to consider buying in advance of a relief rally.

  2. Futures are rallying because JP Morgan announced they are pushing up their earnings release. Stupid reason to rally don't you think?

Not all bad news is priced into the market. However, the media would sure like you to think it is.
