I am updating my resume which hasn't been done since 2002. As a prop firm day trader who primarily day trades with a few swing trades each month, what is an accurate job title. Day Trader sounds too generic so I was kicking around equity trader, equity manager or equity funds manager. I don't want to give the impression that I'm a broker only to have to explain myself later. I am also struggling with an accurate description, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. CEO of my own trading account :)

    Independent trader/investor

There was a thread a while back on what we (traders) say to people when they ask what we do as a career. Search for it...
    -Kastro

  3. You wouldn't put that down on a resume.

Equities Analyst. .if you traded stocks at the prop. (I am assuming that you did analyze a little about those stocks before you decided to trade them.)

Derivatives Analyst.. if you traded futures prop.

  4. Umm, it was a joke...

I think i've settled on Independent Equity Trader. Now for the description, I looked at some old posts and liked:
-executing price and time sensitive stock orders
-investigating historical price data and forecasting future price movement

    anyone use anything else/better?
