  2. well of course you do. your invested in believing. you probably got your belief from your parents who were also invested. it is a hard thing to admit you have been deluded all this time.
critical thinking and a questioning mind can free you.

"The most preposterous notion that H. Sapiens has ever dreamed up is that the Lord God of Creation, Shaper and Ruler of all the Universes, wants the saccharine adoration of His creatures, can be swayed by their prayers, and becomes petulant if He does not receive this flattery. Yet this absurd fantasy, without a shred of evidence to bolster it, pays all the expenses of the oldest, largest, and least productive industry in all of history. "Robert Heinlein

I read an old philosopher once who said that to ask that question is akin to asking why God made a universe with three dimensions, with light and dark, etc. Without the existence of evil (if only in our imagination) would good exist?

  5. i think that philosopher was religious and trying to rationalize the inaction of god in the face of evil.

  6. Good can be easily defined as the accrual of pleasure and the avoidance of pain.

So, yes, good can absolutely exist without evil.

You sir have begged the question. Can pleasure exist if there is no such thing (even imagined) as pain?

  10. Absolutely. Good is all that progresses, evil is all that regresses.
