Why would foreign trolls care about taxes in the US? You are not subject to US taxes so, what is your interest? Tell majority of Americans who got tax cuts that those tax cuts is a mirage! That is one big reason, President Donald Trump is going to get re-elected! Do US taxpayers want to pay more and more of their hard earned monies or keep it in their pockets? The answer is easy except, for foreign trolls!

A lot of companies, big and small has paid huge bonuses to their employees. That is because of the corporate tax cuts! Sure, not all the companies have raised salaries and given out bonuses but, a number of them did. If the US economy continues to do well, there is no reason, why there is not going to be an increase in companies giving monies to their employees. Not every business owner is a greedy SOB, there is probably, a few but, most are decent people who also, want the best for their employees. After all, the success of their business depends on happy, loyal employees! It pays dividends down the road. Look at In-N-Out Burger. The owner treats her employees well and she is rewarded with the company doing very well!

  3. Money in large corporations doesn't trickle down like that.

Usually tax cuts like these incentivize corporations to increase hiring. Which in turn makes up for the tax cuts by state and federal government earning tax on employee salaries.

So, you are saying those who got bonuses and salary raises are imagining it? I know of a couple personally who are friends but, they made it all up? Okay, if you say so! Tax cuts give companies the incentive to give monies to their employees, shareholders, buyback stocks. Expand their manufacturing if there is demand for it! What drives hiring is increased demand for those jobs if the company is increasing manufacturing and needs more workers to fill demand! Drop in demand like what is happening to GM results in the opposite, which is plant closings! There is less demand for GM cars so, they have to cut expenses! Plain common sense, not rocket science!

  7. smallfil, what field are your friends in and size of company.

What was the purpose of the Trump tax cuts, I'd like to hear what you've read and know about them.

I'm referring to the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act also known as the "Trump tax cuts" btw. To eliminate confusion.

Job market ends 2019 with disappointing 145,000 growth in payrolls

    • December’s payroll and wage growth missed expectations.
    • The Labor Department said nonfarm payrolls increased by just 145,000 while the unemployment rate held steady at 3.5%.
    • Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been looking for job growth of 160,000. The jobless rate met expectations for staying at a 50-year low.
    • A more encompassing jobs rate that includes discouraged and underemployed workers fell to 6.7%, the lowest it’s ever been in records going back to 1994.

Trump budget calls for cutting Medicaid, ACA by about $1 trillion

President Trump’s proposed budget includes about $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act over a decade, analysts said.

The budget released Monday includes $844 billion over 10 years in cuts from the “President’s health reform vision,” a stand-in for the repeal and replacement of ObamaCare.
There are also more than $150 billion in additional cuts from implementing Medicaid work requirements and other changes to the program, which would result in some people losing coverage if they did not meet the requirements.

The cuts drew swift condemnation from Democrats, who pointed out that Trump himself promised not to cut Medicaid, the health insurance program for the poor, during his 2016 campaign.

“I’m not going to cut Medicare or Medicaid,” Trump said in 2015, adding, “Every other Republican is going to cut it.”
