Idaho Senator Larry Craig Arrested in Men's Room

Last June, Larry Craig, the Senator who was publicly outed to absolutely no ensuing scandal, was arrested for “lewd conduct” in a men’s room at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. He pleaded guilty on August 8, paid $500, got out of the 10-day jail sentence, and was given a year of probation. His office referred to the incident — and this is all from Roll Call so you can’t accuse us of making this bizarre quote up — as a “he said/he said misunderstanding.” They claim they’ll explain what they mean by this later today, when they come up with a convincing lie.

Larry Craig was outed as a secret gay by blogger Mike Rogers last year. As this was in the midst of Cocktober, no one really noticed. We did like one post on it and then forgot it basically forever. Mike promised more hilarious stories — we kept hearing about the Union Station bathrooms — but no one cared without specifics and maybe hilarious video.

Here are some of our favorite details from this particular story:

    * “At one point during the interview, Craig handed the plainclothes sergeant who arrested him a business card that identified him as a U.S. Senator and said, ‘What do you think about that?’ the report states.”

    * “At 1216 hours, Craig tapped his right foot. I recognized this as a signal used by persons wishing to engage in lewd conduct. Craig tapped his toes several times and moves his foot closer to my foot. I moved my foot up and down slowly. While this was occurring, the male in the stall to my right was still present. I could hear several unknown persons in the restroom that appeared to use the restroom for its intended use. The presence of others did not seem to deter Craig as he moved his right foot so that it touched the side of my left foot which was within my stall area,” the report states.

    * “Craig then proceeded to swipe his hand under the stall divider several times, and Karsnia noted in his report that ‘I could … see Craig had a gold ring on his ring finger as his hand was on my side of the stall divider.’”

But wait, there’s a very simple explanation for all of this!

In a recorded interview after his arrest, Craig “either disagreed with me or ‘didn’t recall’ the events as they happened,” the report states.

Craig stated “that he has a wide stance when going to the bathroom and that his foot may have touched mine,” the report states. Craig also told the arresting officer that he reached down with his right hand to pick up a piece of paper that was on the floor.

“It should be noted that there was not a piece of paper on the bathroom floor, nor did Craig pick up a piece of paper,” the arresting officer said in the report.

On Aug. 8, the day he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in the Minnesota court, Craig appeared via satellite at a ceremony that took place in Idaho in which former Idaho federal Judge Randy Smith was invested into his new position as a judge on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

You see, it was all just a simple he said/he said misunderstanding! Because Larry Craig was under the impression that the other gentleman wanted to have anonymous sex with him in an airport bathroom.

To be honest, we feel bad for poor Larry Craig — the cop didn’t even give him time to whip it out! Dude shoulda fought the case! Because we would’ve liked to have seen this drawn out as long as possible.

Yeah we’ve put out similar calls before but now would be a good time to send us all your Larry Craig stories and rumors.'/idaho-senator-larry-craig-arrested-in-mens-room-293922.php
  2. "A spokesman for Craig described the incident as a 'he said/he said misunderstanding,' and said the office would release a fuller statement later Monday afternoon."

WTF kind of statement is that - the guy's a restroom faggot - probably been doing it for years. :D

    Wonder what the wife thinks.
  3. good thing we have "family values." faith-based initiatives. prayer in schools. thank the lord the gays can't get married, they'd ruin that fine institution.

look at it from their side - if the GOP closet homosexuals have to scurry around looking for action in mens rooms, everybody else should have to suffer too, dammit.
  4. Why is it that the GOP douchebags are always the ones caught in airport bathrooms?

I don't understand why they don't just come out and be themselves like Barney Frank and hapadouche.
  5. Ah, yes. When democrats do it, they get promoted to the heads of committees, when republicans do it, it's a crime.

And the usual suspects on ET heap scorn for same.

Larry Craig's pro-Romney video taken down

"Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) — who has pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in connection with an incident where he allegedly solicited a plainclothes police officer in a men's restroom — is one of Mitt Romney's top backers in the Senate. A clip of Craig praising Romney was until just moments ago available on Romney's YouTube channel, but is now listed as "a private video."

Explaining why he's backing Romney, Craig says in the video that it's in part because "he has very strong family values."

"That's something I grew up with and believe in," Craig explains."

"It is an honor to have the support and leadership in the United States Senate of Sen. Bennett and Sen. Craig," Romney said in the press release accompanying the announcement. "Throughout their years of service, they have compiled strong conservative records and have accomplished much for the people of their states and their nation. Both men have a unique perspective of the new generation of challenges confronting our nation. I look forward to working with them to find the solutions needed to ensure that our country remains a strong world leader."

Btw, rumors of Craig's homosexuality didn't just pop up last year. Then-Rep. Larry Craig went on network news in 1982 to deny rumors involving cocaine and sex with male pages. See the final 30 seconds of the below video:

Wouldn't be surprised if Romney himself turns out to be a men's room homo.. :D
  7. Idaho Values Alliance:
Right below Sen. Craig's picture, there is this "Bonus Byte:"
"One of the tragic characteristics of the homosexual lifestyle is its emphasis on anonymous sex and multiple sexual partners. It is a little-acknowledged secret that many active homosexuals will have more than 1,000 sex partners over the course of a lifetime (the average among heterosexuals is seven – still six more than we were designed for). This sordid fact of homosexual life surfaced yesterday in an AP article yesterday that reports on the number of arrests police have made for indecent exposure and public sex acts in the restrooms at Atlanta’s airport, the busiest in the world. The increased restroom patrols, begun to apprehend luggage thieves, instead uncovered a rash of sex crimes. Airport restrooms have become so popular that men looking for anonymous sexual trysts with other men have advertised their airport availability on Craigslist. One such ad was from a man saying he was stuck at the airport for three hours and was looking for “discreet, quick action.”"

I wonder whether "Craigslist" has anything to do with Sen. Craig?:D

  8. Let us handle the reporting. You GOP boys got a landslide coming - better get out there wiff teh toofless idiots and start tapping on shoes. :p

Well there is a reason for that, you know what they say about those who live in glass houses throwing rocks. On a side note as soon as I saw this thread, before I even read it, I knew it was z who started it.
