You won't be able to play Fortnite on that rig.

  3. I use Sierrachart. I trade ES futures only and two charts, one intraday tick chart and one daily chart. I only use one indicator, 20EMA, on the tick chart. On the daily chart, I have 3 moving averages and volume.

  4. You are right dude, no time for games.
    If you green you win.

I use the same software trading the same instrument with almost the same setup on a very resource constrained computer (Surface Go) and have never had any issues.

I wouldn’t even worry about a dedicated GPU. Just kills the battery if you plan on being mobile.

I’d be more worried about keyboard, trackpad, monitor quality. Ports are important now. All these new models are ditching ports.

Doesn’t take much to run charting software. i5, 8gb ram and 256 gig ssd and should be good to go. Could run 128g ssd for most. My new Asus vivobook I got last year runs everything fine. Got it just for being mobile. Have an old gaming laptop now setup as my desktop. It’s nice just for running big backtests/optimization on Amibroker but laptop does fine.

Get office 365 and you got a terabyte or cloud storage for bulky files like photos and market data.

Just looked up Age of my Core 2 Duo, it's 13years old likely had it 1 year after it was top so 12years, still working fine for trading and general use, don't worry too much.

Running Windows 7 32bit with 4GB ram, but a 240GB SSD to speed it up.

  8. So you conservative person. I have three, five screens. One is old 2009 dell. I’m going to buy i7.
I got W7 on two and Linux on third. Linux the best system. Hate W10.

  9. What do you think about markets tomorrow?
I sold two positions just in case after market.

IT guy, as long as it works, I'll keep using it, hate IT stuff, only do it for money.

XP on my I3 6year old laptop :)

Got a W10 64bit AMD, 8gb ram gaming machine about 3years old, already struggling, but rarely use.

    3 Tablets, Samsung S6 + A10.5 2019 + 8" Lenova.

    Stay cheap, work less :)
