The Renko on Tradingview, I have not worked with Renko bars much but is it normal to have 2 same colored bars reverse trend then price reverses to original trend and bars turn into previous trend and what once was, has vanished?

Does one have to wait for 3 in a row to make sure Renko does not change back? And yet other times have alternating colored bars. Thanks.

  3. There are a lot of repainting issues in Tradingview. I am back to 1 minute candles as the trades become so long otherwise. There are profitable trades but I can not be glued to the screen too long.

I tinkered with the Renko Settings (gear icon at top) and there is traditional and ATR settings.

  4. Yeah HA is so clean....but the public library strategies do not backtest correctly.

I do not rely on backtests anyways...as I modify much and the signal is just the starting point. The days of black and white are over for me.

There is a real price indicator to load that will give you correct prices with the crosshair.

I trade manually. But I can definitely see Heiken Ashi being very hard to trade automatically.

Been playing with Renko on Investing.com, so waiting for 3 in a row to call it trend. I don't have Renko on platform that I had programmed, Renko so odd and not close to P&F, but for Trend, it is decent and so long as one knows reversal patterns on one minute of when to delay signals is the key to take signals on one minute. Funny how Investing.com uses odd tick values so as not to Piss off CME.
But am always open minded to checking if I can make something worthwhile.

I have an automated Heiken Ashi, and does well enough, but drawdowns always been more than I like, but it is more of a day trading method than going for ticks/runners.

I always doubted public library strategies be worth trading, otherwise whoever made it would have not posted it and traded it themselves.

HA is good for giving context re: price action. Many like normal candles for price action as well. But neither HA nor normal candles give an edge.
