Hello, Can TradeStation be shut down remotely? For example, if I am running a strategy on TradeStation and I am away from the computer that is running TradeStation, can I shut down the TS computer from another computer or from a telephone? Also, can I send a "go flat" command to the TS computer from a remote location? Thanks, Norm
You can use Windows Remote Desktop (also known as terminal services) to connect to your PC if it's running XP pro. If not you can use winvnc (or tightvnc) by themselves or with sslvnc to do remote connections to your PC. Google these terms to figure out how to use them. SSB
Using another computer you might try http://www.gotomypc.com Performs well, web-based, secure and easy to set up and use. Iâve seen products on the market that can reboot your computer from a telephone call. Just Google for that.
Although these remote desktop and go to my PC solution are workable, I was hoping that TradeStation might have something built in. Then, with some simple software a command could be issued to the appropriate IP address to cause TS to shut down or go flat. Ideally, it would be simple enough to work from a pocket PC or may even a cell phone. Anyway, it seems like a good idea.
You can use your cell phone or pocket PC to control aspects of TS8. Tradestation exposes Easylanguage to external programs (that you write yourself or get from 3rd party providers) which can use various protocols to interface via the internet to your pocket PC, or cell phone web or text messaging services. http://www.tradestationaddons.com/Support/Downloads.aspx Click on the links under âOther Resources.â
